What to expect during your Myotherapy consultation.

Your first myotherapy consultation begins with a subjective examination to determine the reason for your visit such as (but not limited to) collecting information regarding areas of pain or discomfort, mechanism of injury, lifestyle factors, current and past medical history and your goals. Your myotherapist will then perform a thorough assessment of areas of pain, posture and functional limitations. They will then use this information to determine the cause of your pain/ discomfort and put together and discuss a management plan with you.

What is the difference between myotherapy and massage, which one is better for me?

Massage is a common tool used across a number of modalities, however Myotherapy differs due to its treatment approaches in addition to massage. Your myotherapist will aim for a long-term relief/solution to pain and discomfort where massage can help with short term pain relief and has a therapeutic purpose.
